'Amnesty International' It is a worldwide organization associated with human rights. It was founded on May 28, 1961 by British citizen Peter Benson. At present it has more than one million members in about 150 countries of the world. Amnesty International's mandate is based on the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This organization tries to free such prisoners all over the world, who are imprisoned on the basis of their political and spiritual ideology, specific race and caste and who have not participated in any kind of violence. This organization also raises voice against death penalty and torture. Amnesty International persons fighting for their rights, Helps institutions and organizations. Along with this, this organization also takes media management and expert help for its work. Amnesty International brings to light all types of cases committed against human rights. This organization annually publishes factual reports regarding human rights and exposes the violating countries.

Amnesty International operates through an International Council, an International Executive Committee, a section structure, an international network and an International Secretariat. The 'International Council' is the supreme authority to carry out the work of this organization.

Its members are constituted by the members of the 'International Executive Committee' (IEC) and representatives of the section. Its meeting is held at an interval of two years on a date determined by the 'International Executive Committee'. 'Amnesty International' was awarded the 'Nobel Peace Prize' in 1977.
