New Law for Coaching Centers in Rajasthan
The Rajasthan government has made a new law to control coaching centers. This law is important because students in Kota and Jaipur feel a lot of pressure while studying. Many students become very stressed and some even end their lives. The government wants to stop coaching centers from working only for money and make sure students are safe.
What does this law say?
- All coaching centers must register with the government.
- Students will get mental health help (counseling) to reduce stress.
- If a coaching center breaks rules, they will be fined:
- ₹2 lakh for the first mistake
- ₹5 lakh for the second mistake
- If they keep breaking rules, the center will be closed
What has changed from the old rules?
- Before, only students above 16 years could join coaching, but now this rule is removed.
- Before, students’ attendance was checked with face recognition, but now this rule is also removed.
- Before, coaching centers had to follow national and local holidays, but now only festival holidays are mentioned.
- Before, coaching centers were not allowed to treat students differently based on religion, caste, or gender. They also had to make special arrangements for disabled students. But now, this rule is removed.
What will happen next?
- Parents are not happy with the law. They want strict punishment if a student dies because of a coaching center.
- Parents also want a rule to control high coaching fees.
- The opposition party (Congress) says the government made the law weaker to help coaching centers. They will fight to change it in the assembly.
Final Thoughts
This law is meant to protect students and control coaching centers. But some important rules are removed, so many people are unhappy. Now, the law will be discussed in the assembly, and we will see if it changes.
